About My Clients
Distress is a natural response to unsustainable pressures in our lives. Learning new ways to connect to our thoughts, emotions, and to the world around us can help find greater satisfaction in life. I work primary with teens and adults and am especially passionate about serving Highly Sensitive People (HSP), young adults with chronic illness, and folx in the LGBTQ+ community. Client focuses include anxiety, trauma, depression, life transitions, work/school stress, self-esteem, etc.
My Background and Approach
As a counselor, I strive to affirm all identities and incorporate an awareness of social and cultural factors that may impact your lived experience. In addition to traditional talk therapy, I offer expressive arts therapy, which allows for processing, experiencing, and integrating therapeutic work on a deeper level. Research has shown that a key factor in the success of therapy is the therapeutic relationship between client and counselor. Toward that end, I strive to focus on facilitating human connection and creating a sense of safety for my clients. My approach is tailored to each client's individual needs and may include developing coping skills, incorporating mindfulness techniques, and creative and experiential exploration, depending on each client's needs and preferences.
