Anxiety disorders are the most prevalent concern I address in my practice. Whether it is deep seated anxiety or situational, the vast majority of my clients manage anxiety symptoms on a daily basis. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness Practices to address these concerns.
My history with PTSD started as very personal. My husband served several tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and we manage symptoms of PTSD daily. My education and experience have been primarily centered around trauma and the way it manifests. Depending on the age of the client and the severity of symptoms, I am utilize Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) or Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT).
Middle School and High School adolescents are my passion population. I believe this group of people is often misunderstood and the expectations we place on these kiddos is very high. Dealing with the transition from childhood to early adulthood is often tremulous. Using humor, music, art, and whatever else we can think of, we tackle these problems in a collaborative manner.
