About My Clients
Do you meet your responsibilities while struggling with self-critical thoughts and fear that robs you of feeling presence and peace in your life? Maybe you've tried therapy or self help techniques before and feel like you're spinning your wheels. I am passionate about helping working professionals, creatives and young adults who struggle with a sense of unworthiness no matter what accomplishments or milestones they surpass.
My Background and Approach
My approach includes addressing worry/fear to make way for you to internalize positive beliefs about yourself (EMDR), practical tools to help you understand your emotions and live mindfully (DBT), greater insight and strategies to live in alignment with what fulfills you (ACT), and understanding your inner resources (IFS). It's important to me that you always have a strong understanding of we're working towards in your treatment. Trusting your therapist is important, and I'll always be transparent with you about what I'm thinking and collaborate with you about the best course of treatment. I'll bring my authentic self to session and create a space for you to do the same. We'll work through the tough stuff, while also making space for humor and creativity. My practice is exclusively telehealth. Conducting therapy virtually allows me to provide flexible scheduling and effective treatment techniques while you engage in healing work in the comfort of your own space.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe change and growth is possible at any stage of your life. Being a therapist has given me the incredible gift of witnessing clients from diverse backgrounds and mental health struggles do courageous things. My past roles have included working in housing justice, conflict resolution, community based treatment and substance use treatment. I grew up in a family with substance abuse and had my own struggles with worry and self-criticism that felt unshakeable for years. Trust me when I say it's possible to not just cope, but thrive in your life. Outside of the office I love to make upcycled art, and spend many hours scouring thrift stores. When I need to put my brain on the backburner, I curl up with a thriller novel and am always surprised who the killer is despite the formulaic plots. I'm trying desperately to be the type of person who keeps plants alive, enjoy baking, and have two incredibly cute rabbits named Benny and Joon.
