About My Clients
Therapy can offer a space to slow down, make sense out of what you are experiencing, and reconnect with yourself. Many of my clients are navigating challenges associated with ADHD, trauma, major life transitions, burnout, or difficult relationships. I have experience working with and welcome those who identify as LGBTQIA+. Whether you're working toward greater self-understanding, healthier relationships and coping skills, or deconstructing old narratives, I'm here to support on your journey.
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy is collaborative. Together we will work on goals that feel authentic and practical for you. I am a trauma-informed therapist and use a blend of CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing and person-centered approaches to support you. In our sessions we may use CBT to identify and deconstruct unhelpful thoughts, DBT to build skills to support in communication and emotional regulation, and motivational interviewing to support in strengthening your own voice and motivation for change. It is my belief that at the core of effective therapy is a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship. I value open communication and personal autonomy, allowing you to move at a pace that feels comfortable.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone deserves to be seen and understood as a whole person and not reduced to a diagnosis, traumatic experience, or difficult chapter in their lives. I value the unique experiences of those I work with and it is an honor to walk alongside my clients on their journey. Starting therapy (or starting over with a new therapist) can be nerve-racking, especially so for clients who identify as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, persons with a disability, and other marginalized groups. It is important to know that your therapist supports you. I firmly believe that there is a difference between accepting and affirming therapy. I respect and celebrate my clients for who they are. You are welcome here.
