About My Clients
Are you feeling worn down by life? Hustling day in and day out and realizing you lost yourself somewhere along the way? Do you feel overwhelmed and disconnected from yourself? Is one more "How's your self-care?" post on social media going to be the breaking point? Let's be real: we exist in broken systems and we can't self-care our way out of that. What we can do though is look at what's keeping us stuck: the stories we tell ourselves, the habits we engage in, and the changes we can act on.
My Background and Approach
As a Certified Trauma Professional, I integrate polyvagal theory with psychodynamic approaches, EMDR, and parts work to engage both the body and the mind in the therapy room. We'll get curious about what from the past may be continuing to influence your present, and learn skills to increase feelings of safety, calm, and confidence in the here-and-now. We might stretch or drum or dance or play with PlayDoh while we talk. With increased self-awareness, actionable tools, and an attuned body, you'll gain clarity on who you are, where you want to go in life, and how to get there.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in holistic care and bringing the body into the therapy room. I think a lot of us are suffering from symptoms of being human in a world that wishes we could be more like robots. But these human symptoms are things like having emotions, needing rest, care, and love, and striving for meaning and purpose. These human symptoms are often needing to be explored, supported, and encouraged rather than repressed and ignored despite what societal influences may promote. I believe in allowing our humanity to flourish through authenticity, advocacy, connection, and empowerment. I believe that together we can create the meaning and purpose we are striving for in life.
