About My Clients
Life is just hard sometimes. The pressure builds, and starts showing up in other areas of our lives. Stress and feelings of anxiety and depression start to impact our relationships and interactions with others around us. Changes in our lives tip the balance, and we often struggle while caring for so many and doing so much. It takes so much courage to reach out and ask for help, and that same tenacity that has gotten you through so much already will help you now.
My Background and Approach
My education background is a Bachelor of Science in Human Development, a Master's of Science in Professional Counseling, and a Doctorate of Psychology in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have twenty years experience helping people navigate life, its hardships, and its challenges. Life is just hard sometimes, and it helps to have someone listen. I am married with six children, all with different special needs, and all adopted from foster care. My husband and I shared the story of our family in the book "Keeping Kyrie", opening up about our own trials through dating, marriage, cancer, miscarriage, and grief. I will be glad to listen as you share your story with me.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am currently the international clinical coordinator for humanitarian aid organizations offering counseling and trauma resiliency training to government leaders, humanitarian aid workers, and first responders in war zones and natural disaster sites. I lecture internationally about trauma and resiliency, as well as producing a podcast that airs in 64 countries. Besides numerous syndicated articles online about mental health issues, she is the author of the memoir "Keeping Kyrie" about the gathering of her family, as well as several related children's books about disabilities.
