I specialize in supporting folks who have experienced the devastating loss of their beloved animal companion or companions. To me, this is one of the hardest and least understood losses that a human being can endure. I offer compassionate guidance at any point on the grief journey, including the grief that can arise anticipating the loss of our companions.

Veterinary professionals, along with all those in the helping professionals, can experience burnout and compassion fatigue at any point in their professional lives. I help my clients develop discernment and strategies to help build their burnout and/or compassion fatigue recovery plan, including preventative self-care strategies.

I am passionate about supporting all those in addiction recovery, and have both personal and professional experience supporting female-identified folks struggling with alcohol addictions. I am 12-Step friendly and also am informed in alternative/harm reduction recovery methods.

I firmly believe in the dignity and worth of every person, and hold unconditional trust and regard for my clients. I believe each person has everything inside them that they need to heal and build self-trust, and I hold dear the belief that no one is inherently broken. You are worthy, just by virtue of existing.

Humans are social creatures, and much of how we relate to the world and feel about ourselves is informed by the interactions we have with our primary caregivers in early childhood. Intergenerational, in-utero, and birth trauma all can have a profound on us as adults. When we do not receive the love and care from our primary caregivers that we truly need as babies, we often suffer as adults and struggle with intimate relationships. I work with my clients to heal these attachment wounds.

Addiction, in my opinion, is often a result of trauma, and NOT a moral failing. I support my clients working to heal from their struggles with addiction, and provide compassion and deep understanding of the multiple areas of life affected by addiction. I support 12-step, alternative methods such as Refuge Recovery, and harm reduction methods.

Somatic therapy is pivotal for folks struggling with the aftermath of trauma. As Bessel van der Kolk says, "the body keeps the score," and learning somatic approaches to comfort and support the body can be lifechanging for trauma survivors. My primary teacher of somatic therapy is Linda Thai, LCSW of Collectively Rooted.
