About My Clients
Whether you're a mom or a parent battling postpartum depression or anxiety; a loss of sense of self; parenting struggles; feelings of isolation; hopelessness; or constant feelings of overwhelm, I am here for you. I am a Gottman trained couples therapist and I am a certified perinatal mental health provider by Postpartum Support International. I provide highly effective evidence-based therapy for couples, especially parents facing challenges during pregnancy, postpartum and toddlerhood.
My Background and Approach
My first priority is to make sure you feel heard, understood and validated. I will listen without judgment, I will be careful with your trust, and I will create a safe space in my office where you can be vulnerable and open. I don’t have a planned agenda or a check-list with how each session has to go, I meet each client, or couple where they are at. My goal is to work collaboratively with you and develop a personalized integrative approach to therapy that is focused on realistic solutions, highlights your strengths, and is conducive to your overall quality of life. I embrace the idea that everyone has a different personality, different concerns, relational problems and history of life experiences.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Helping couples, parents, and moms navigate life transitions through pregnancy and parenthood is my specialty and my passion. Pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting bring significant change, stress, and worry to life even when all goes to plan. And yeah, while it can be a beautiful and exciting time, the changes you experience individually and as a family, can also bring feelings of sadness, anxiety, fear, guilt, failure, uncertainty, and darkness. Whether you need help with parenting or a different life situation/transition, together we will work to understand the roots of your history and embrace your natural resilience and strength throughout this new chapter of your life. I strongly believe that like gardening, the path toward mental health and growth takes time, care, and patience as the seeds of empathy, self-love, and hope gradually take root, flourish, and thrive. The most important step is to get started.
