About My Clients
I offer therapeutic support to children, teens and college-age students who are struggling with anxiety related disorders, parental divorce, depression, self-harm, life transitions and self-esteem. I work with parents who have children with a mental health and/or behavioral health diagnoses to provide parent coaching and support these caretakers in having a safe space to process their feelings, manage stressors and identify strengths that can support them in meeting the needs of their child.
My Background and Approach
No matter what difficulties you may be dealing with, I will help you to recognize underlying challenges, identify strengths, encourage positive thinking and work to support healthy ways to progress within your area of need. I realize that no two people are the same and I work to tailor my therapeutic approaches to meet the specific needs of my clients. My therapeutic approaches are collective and draw from the following evidenced based theories: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: Based on the idea that an individual's thoughts, feelings, and behavior are all connected. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy: Identify and recognize inner emotions and take action-oriented changes related to each person's values. Exposure Therapy: Based in the idea of emotional avoidance, it gradually reduces obsessions, compulsions, and unwanted trauma responses. Finally, I utilize Mindfulness: A specific skill where we can increase our focus on the present without judgement.
