About My Clients
Your confidential is a top priority. Individuals seek counseling about situations or events that saddens distresses, excites, irritates, and/or scares them. I am different because I meet you were you are at, creating a non-judgmental environment as I partner with you in the helping process. With your partnership, I can help you to enhance your ability to effectively cope and deal with problems. I am here to listen, offer counseling for Depression, Anxiety, Grief, coping skills, and stress.
My Background and Approach
I am skilled with techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and combining elements of Solution-Focused Therapy and Reality Therapy to help you to cope with difficult feelings, moods, and thoughts. My goal is to partner with you in the problem-solving process to enhance your mental, emotional, and action capacities for coping with problems and/or making accessible the opportunities and resources necessary to generate solutions to problems.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
There are misconceptions that counseling is only for people who have serious mental and emotional problems and/or a sign of weakness. You don’t have to be diagnosed with a mental health problem to benefit from counseling. Many people who are receiving counseling seek help for common everyday stresses (health concerns, relationship difficulties, self-esteem issues, family issues, and job stresses). Do not allow these myths to discourage you from taking charge of your life and changing for the better. It takes a lot of courage and humility to admit that you are in need of help and to seek help. I am here to make this process of getting help easy. I believe that change is not impossible, it may take hard work and effort, but never impossible. Sometimes it's the smallest decisions that can change your life forever. Keri Russell
