About My Clients

Are you a trauma survivor who feels constant stress and like you are a "trauma magnet" or that other people walk on eggshells around you? Are you an adopted person struggling with connecting (even to yourself!), being "the only", with loss, shame, and feel like things are out of your control? Whether you are struggling with unresolved trauma or your adoption experience, I look forward to helping you gain the skills you need to feel relief and move forward in your life they way that you want!

My Background and Approach

I am a Licensed independent Social Worker (LICSW). I obtained my Master's in Social Work from Augsburg College in Minnesota. I am Permanency and Adoption Competency (PACC) trained and certified clinician, which allows me to specifically address foster care and adoption-related issues. I continue to work with the PACC community by providing training and case consultation to professionals. I am also an adoptee from an interracial family, and therefore, feel a personal responsibility to give back to the community I am from. I have also completed specialized training in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), a time-limited and evidenced based trauma treatment. This training has allowed me to help trauma survivors in as little as 12 weeks get relief from the symptoms associated with trauma/PTSD. As a woman, adoptee and person of color, I also know how important it can be to explore and process around intersectionality and the systems that impact us in order to support healing.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a clinically trained social worker, I bring my knowledge, skills and lived experience with me into the therapy room. This means acknowledging the impact that systems, systemic racism, race, class, and other identities have on our personal life stories. I am also aware of how the stories other people tell us and the stories we tell ourselves can be passed down and 'attach' to us- whether positively or negatively. I believe that despite these challenges, we have the capacity to create own our personal narratives and shape them in ways that empower us to live our best lives. If any of this sounds familiar to you, reach out and let's connect!
