About My Clients
Adult adoptees, formerly fostered individuals, BIPOC/PGM folks, and those on the perinatal or trauma healing journeys who are looking for therapy that feels less like a clinical manual and more like a therapeutic partnership. If you are ready to move beyond standard talk therapy and explore a deeper, more tailored path, I look forward to walking alongside you.
My Background and Approach
Therapy with me feels like a grounded conversation with a trusted guide rather than a formal appointment. I like to keep things real, personable, and collaborative, offering an affirming, judgment-free space where clients can finally exhale and find grounding. As a specialist in trauma, perinatal mental health, and the foster/adoption experience, I hold advanced certifications to provide support, including: -Permanency and Adoption Competency Certificate (PACC/TAC): Supporting adult adoptees, transracial adoptees, formerly fostered individuals, and anyone navigating identity, grief, and trauma layers of the adoption constellation. -Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C): Helping individuals manage pregnancy, pre and post-adoption anxiety, and the complex transitions of becoming a parent, however they build their family. -Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT): Providing evidence-based, trauma-focused care to help survivors process trauma, PTSD, and rewrite their stories.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe individuals are the experts on their own stories. My role is to listen deeply and blend practical strategies—drawing from CPT, Relational Therapy, Attachment, and narrative therapy—with a holistic approach that honors each person’s unique needs, culture, roots, and growth. Sometimes this means acknowledging the impact that systems, systemic racism, race, class, and other identities have on our personal life stories. Acknowledging the impact of the stories other people tell us and the stories we tell ourselves can "attach" to us, whether positively or negatively. I believe that despite these challenges, we have the capacity to create our own meaningful personal narratives and shape them in ways that empower us to live our best lives. Healing and recovery isn't one-size-fits-all. Your care shouldn't be, either!
