About My Clients
My clients are often the "reliable ones"—the people-pleasers, conflict-avoiders, and perfectionists who've spent years putting everyone else first. Many are LGBTQ+ or neurodivergent folks who grew up in systems that didn't fit, learning to mask or minimize themselves. They're worn out from perfectionism, overthinking, and struggling with boundaries or assertiveness. They often know something needs to change, but aren't sure where to start if change is really possible.
What I Specialize In
People-pleasing and perfectionism develop in response to trauma, family dynamics, or growing up in environments where being yourself wasn't safe or accepted. I employ trauma-informed, evidence-based approaches to help clients understand these patterns and develop more adaptive and healthy ways to navigate life and relationships. My work focuses on helping you reconnect with yourself, quiet the inner critic, learn to set boundaries, express your thoughts, needs, and wants, and develop confidence. I'm trained in evidence-based therapy approaches, including trauma-focused approaches (EMDR, CBT, ACT, and more). I'm LGBTQ+-affirming and neurodivergent-friendly. My practice welcomes all sexual orientations, gender identities, and relationship structures. If you've spent your life managing other people's comfort at the expense of your own, therapy is where that stops. This is a space for exploration and growth. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can determine if we're a good fit.
My Values as a Therapist
I believe therapy works best when we both show up as ourselves and engage in a flowing back-and-forth conversation. I'm more of an exploratory kind of therapist, rather than a goal-oriented one. We'll still have goals, but therapy won't feel like a "check-in". I usually start each session by asking, "What's on your mind?" and off we go. It's okay if what is on your mind changes from week to week - most challenges are interlinked and complex.
