About My Clients
I provide individual counseling to adults (18+) seeking support for intergenerational trauma, family of origin issues, identity exploration, depression, and anxiety. My specialty areas include young adults, professionals across the lifespan, womxn’s issues, multicultural issues, grief/loss, and trauma. I am particularly interested in working with people who identify as Asian American Pacific Islander, BIPOC, and multiethnic.
My Background and Approach
I utilize an integrative relational/dynamic approach drawing on interpersonal, multicultural, systems, and trauma-informed - based concepts as well as cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance commitment therapy, and emotion focused - based interventions. I am adaptive and collaborative in the therapy room, which means it is important to meet you where you are at and to work with you based on your needs. I believes the your motivation and the therapeutic relationship co-create the space for exploration, connection, healing, and change.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Reasons such as (including but not limited to) colonization, mistrust in healthcare system, and Western philosophy of treatment, and cultural beliefs have contributed to stigma regarding seeking help, which is deeply rooted in AAPI and BIPOC communities. The struggle to heal is real, so the fact that you are looking at my profile right now acknowledges your bravery and courage to do a hard thing. As such, I value transparency and I bring that into the therapy room.
