Coming to therapy for the first time is often incredibly daunting, especially in the midst some kind of suffering, which generally brings people to therapy. I work to create a space that is open and accepting as well as interactive. Together, we can plan your journey and outline the steps and tools we can learn in session to help you outside of session
My Background and Approach
I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Somatic Therapy, and EMDR in session, flexibly to best suit each client’s needs. ACT is an interactive and engaging therapy that gives us the tools to ride the highs and lows of life with self-compassion, while Somatic Therapy and EMDR can help identify the hows or whys of how our past impacts our present.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a social worker, empowerment is at the heart of all of my work with clients. I believe each and every client is the expert of their own life and should always be in the captains chair of their therapy experience. I have experience with the immigration process, am an avid video gamer, and cat lady as well as an ally and member of the LGBTQQIP2SAA.
