About My Clients
My clients are young adults in the midst of challenging life transitions - recently graduated, or newly married, or first time parents whose adjustment to their new stage in life is impacted by anxiety, depression, or high stress. If this sounds like you, please reach out. Adjustment can be hard, but it does not have to be overwhelming - and you do not have to figure it out alone.
My Background and Approach
My background is in treatment of anxiety, depression, and executive function challenges. I typically work from a cognitive behavior therapy framework . I believe that building strategy around challenging and reframing unhelpful thought patterns and building a habit of perspective shift is one of the surest ways to motivate relief from symptoms of anxiety, depression, overwhelm, and stress. I make treatment recommendations based on the specific needs of each individual client. I firmly believe that each person is an expert on themselves, and my role is to support you on building clarity on your own path forward.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a mental health professional because I believe that mental health is an essential part of wellbeing, and everyone deserves that. My counseling practice is inspired by the concept of Hope Theory, initially proposed by Charles Snyder; Hope Theory is the idea that hope for anything (progress, change, improvement), requires two things: one is motivation, which you have if you're consulting a therapy directory. The other is Waypower - clarity on what the path forward looks like. This is where a lot of people get stuck, and my goal is to help you find your way.
