About My Clients

My clients are tweens and teens who want the process of making and keeping friends to feel easier and more natural. Many are bright, thoughtful kids with ADHD, autism, or social anxiety who struggle with conversations, social cues, peer dynamics, or feeling left out. They benefit from clear, respectful support that helps them understand social expectations while staying true to who they are.

My Background and Approach

I am a licensed speech-language pathologist with over 20 years of experience supporting children and adolescents with social communication challenges. My background includes working with tweens and teens with ADHD, autism, and social anxiety who want friendships but aren’t sure what to do or say. My approach is evidence-based, neurodiversity-affirming, and practical. I focus on teaching clear, usable social communication skills—such as conversation, perspective-taking, flexibility, and social problem-solving—while honoring each child’s strengths, communication style, and individuality. Therapy is structured and supportive, with explicit instruction, real-life examples, and opportunities for guided practice. Families often appreciate my calm, respectful style and clear explanations. I believe social skills are learnable, and progress happens best when expectations are clear, strengths are recognized, and kids feel understood and supported.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that social communication is a skill set that can be learned, practiced, and strengthened over time. Children and teens who struggle socially are not unmotivated or “doing it wrong”—they are often navigating expectations that have never been made explicit. I believe in meeting each child where they are, honoring their neurodiversity, and building skills in a way that respects who they are rather than trying to change them. I value clear instruction, practical strategies, and real-world application. Social skills should feel useful and relevant, not abstract or forced. I also believe families deserve transparency, collaboration, and realistic expectations. Progress happens best when kids feel understood, supported, and safe to practice new skills, and when parents feel informed and confident about the process. My goal is to help children and teens feel more capable, connected, and comfortable being themselves in social situations.
