About My Clients

My Background and Approach
While I do specialize in creative professionals, artists and entertainers, that does not mean the scope of focus is always that narrow. In order to fully address the client, I have to be well versed in numerous mental health issues that could arise. Additional specialities I have are: substance use, eating disorders, young adults, victims of domestic violence, depression, anxiety, and LGBTQ+. In order to provide the best care, I use a combination of modalities: CBT, DBT, insight oriented therapy, mindfulness and motivational interviewing. In the end, I believe in the great work of Carl Rogers who was the founder of humanistic or client centered psychology. That is to say that ultimately the true magic of therapy comes from the relationship between clinician and client.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Work on yourself to work on your craft. It is a simple idea with a powerful pay off. While the cliche is that being miserable is part of being an artist, I disagree! Attending therapy can be your secret weapon to accessing your best work in your craft. While there is no question that training is important to your work, there is also no denying that the work of an artist is emotional! In therapy, we are able to develop your ability to be vulnerable, we are able to build your self esteem, and we are able to help you gain direction again.
