About My Clients

I offer in person and online therapy to adults, teens, & children from my Berkeley office. I enjoy working with fellow BIPOC, mixed-race, and queer folks, as well as people of marginalized genders, and youth of all ages. I find my approach especially fitting for folks struggling with a strong inner critic that might stem from trauma, anxiety, and/or perfectionism.

My Background and Approach

I primarily take a person-centered and trauma-informed approach. My style is gentle, intuitive, and compassionate. Often times, we relate to our symptoms as something to fix. Mindfulness -noticing and not judging- is often where we start. Learning how to respond to ourselves with compassion, acceptance, and curiosity are core to what I believe makes therapy a healing and reparative space, and this also helps soften anxiety and trauma symptoms. We'll honor the ways you've survived, and help identify more adaptive ways of coping. When working with children, I offer child-centered play therapy and expressive arts during in-person visits. I also love working with teens, and can offer a blend of talk therapy, creative options, and experiential approaches so they can have a place to talk about what matters to them. I honor and embrace the wisdom that young people have, and offer a safe outlet for expressing feelings and talking about what matters most to them.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I seek to build respectful and strong connections with clients as a foundation for safety and trust. I hold a social justice framework and consider how systems and socio-cultural identities impact my client’s experiences and our therapeutic relationship. I identify as a queer, mixed race, cis-gender woman, with Filipino and European heritage. I am an artist with a focus on visual arts, and I draw on creativity and imagination as a resource. As a highly sensitive introvert, I engage with things deeply and appreciate the richness of internal experiences. I believe that my work as a therapist is one of the ways I can best offer my strengths as a tool for social change, and my hope is that I can support others to feel empowered in their own healing and liberation.
