About My Clients

My main passion is working with the LGBTQ community. My areas of interest include grief work, trauma, dissociative disorders, HIV, depression, and anxiety. While I am not a couples therapist, I take a sex-positive approach and enjoy working with folks in polyamorous/non-monogamous relationships, as well as members of the kink community. I view therapy as a collaborative approach between the therapist and the client. **Please note- I do not accept insurance but can provide a receipt**

My Background and Approach

Sometimes in life we find ourselves feeling lost or stuck or maybe we have experienced a great loss or trauma. While friends and family can offer support and solace during these times, developing a relationship with the right therapist can offer a unique and safe space to work through these problems in a way that can’t always be done with loved ones. I take an integrative and non-judgmental approach with my clients and create a safe and nurturing environment for my clients to explore and grow. While I tend to take a holistic and person-centered approach to my work, I am also trained in DBT skills as well as EMDR. I view the client as the expert in their life and I try to meet clients where they are at.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My passion for working with the LGBTQ community comes from a personal place. I watched loved ones and family members suffer from internalized homophobia and transphobia. This experience created a desire in me to provide a safe and affirming place for individuals who often aren't able to find that place in this world. As an animal lover, my grief work with clients also focuses on pet loss. This is another area that is often ignored or misunderstood and I have worked with many clients helping them explore and process their grief over the loss of a beloved animal companion.
