About My Clients

My clients like it straight forward. I validate your decision to seek help, and gently ask open-ended questions about your relationship history, current issues, and desired goals. The therapy is assessing communication patterns and conflict resolution styles, understanding each partner's perspective to establish a supportive foundation for change. I work with Stress, Anxiety, Depression, OCD and many other treatment issues as well.

My Background and Approach

I am a Systemic Therapist. Systemic therapy helps individuals, couples and families improve their relationships and resolve problems by focusing on the entire family system rather than just an individual. I analyze how family members' past, current and future interactions affect each other and the overall family dynamic, viewing issues within a broader context to facilitate understanding and positive change. Systemic therapy can help with a wide range of issues, including: Relationship Issues: Couple difficulties, parenting struggles, or conflicts within the family unit. Mental/ Behavioral Health: Addressing individual or family-wide issues such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders, self-harm, or substance misuse. Life Transitions: Helping families cope with major events like divorce, separation, illness, death, or the formation of stepfamilies. Trauma and Loss: Providing support for families affected by trauma, domestic violence, or bereavement.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am an active volunteer with the homeless and veterans. I seek difficult cases. I lecture/public speaking on topics of change, teach graduate classes and have been featured on television as well . Why? Viewing the family as an interconnected system, recognizing that individual issues are often embedded within the system's dynamics, and believing in the validity of multiple perspectives within that system. This is a much different approach than regular counseling. I believe in the importance of understanding relational patterns, embracing cultural context and ambiguity, promoting collaboration with clients as experts in their lives, and facilitating change by altering these patterns rather than solely focusing on individual symptoms. We all have a narrative we tell ourselves and others. My goal is to make it make sense.
