About My Clients
Are you feeling lost and overwhelmed during a challenging life transition? Are you grieving a major loss? Do you suffer from persistent generalized anxiety? Holistic practices can reduce anxiety tremendously, and I look forward to teaching you tools to take your life back. I can help empower you to improve emotional and physical well-being through my eclectic therapeutic approach.
My Background and Approach
In 1993, I graduated from Catholic University with a Masters in Clinical Social Work. Since then, I've received years of post-graduate training from accredited workshops, classes and seminars and studied meditation at a yoga ashram. I've worked in a variety of health care settings including hospitals, nonprofit health organizations, and solo and group practices. I encourage my clients to use tools which, if used daily, can significantly reduce anxiety. These tools include basic self-care practices, mindfulness techniques, a regular connection with nature, acupuncture and or massage, and taking medications consistently if prescribed by a doctor.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As adults, it’s easy to forget that who we really are. We want to better understand and improve personal and professional relationships. Deep within, there’s a core, sacred part of us who is capable of being calm, curious, courageous, compassionate, confident, connected, creative, and clear (the 8 C’s). That core, which is called the Self, can be obscured by negative emotional reactions often rooted in our family of origin experiences. Each of these reactions or parts aren’t good or bad. They have a voice and a purpose. Once we build a trusting and open relationship with all of the reactive parts within, we move toward emotional freedom.
