About My Clients

With a deep understanding of the complexities of loss, grief and trauma. I understand that life’s unexpected turns—whether through loss, illness, or traumatic events—can disrupt every aspect of your well-being, including emotional health, relationships, spirituality, and daily functioning. My goal is to support individuals in finding healthy ways to navigate these challenges while fostering healing and personal growth.

My Background and Approach

I have been a Social Worker for over 30 years and in 2015 obtained my LCSW license. I have extensive experience working in medical settings and with crime victims, including supporting families facing serious diagnoses such as cancer and assisting individuals navigating the criminal justice system after experiencing violent crimes. My work has included providing crisis intervention and helping crime victims cope with emotional, psychological, and physical impacts. The counseling tools I use include a trauma-informed approach, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and a strength-based perspective.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I have the unique personal experiences that have shaped my professional goals and strengths. I have been an advocate for crime victims, individuals with disabilities and their care givers. My medical background has given me the experience to understand grief, transitions in life, dealing with medical challenges, and trauma. I have worked with individuals with spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, cancer patients, amputation, and many others. These traumatic experiences can disrupt every aspect of your life but there are avenues for healing, building resilience and creating balance when everything is in chaos and disrupted. For those who find faith an essential part of their journey, I am open to incorporating spirituality into counseling sessions. As a Christian, I understand the role that faith can play in healing, but I welcome individuals from all backgrounds and beliefs. You will guide whether or not spirituality is part of your counseling process.
