I serve adolescents (16+), adults, couples and families who struggle with family/marital/relationship issues, codependency, mood disorders, work/academic/sport stress, anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, trauma and substance abuse challenges. I also work with those experiencing life transitions e.g. moving, college, adjusting to new job or country, or who simply want to live more joyful lives.
My Background and Approach
Due to COVID-19 and the recommendation to limit social engagements we are offering phone or video session options.
I use a combination of therapeutic techniques. However, when appropriate, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapy (SFBT). As part of a pilot program designed to change lives and outcomes, I became very skilled in using CBT. I provide support and tools needed for your growth and change. We can work together to develop a plan for you to be better able to manage challenges and live a more fulfilling life.
My calm, easy going manner, together with my vast life/work experience, creates a safe space where people feel heard, valued and understood. Clients have described me as an excellent listener, insightful and non-judgmental.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that every experience and encounter in life has a purpose. Nothing happens by chance. I believe our challenges are not meant to "break" us, but to provide valuable lessons for us to grow, become stronger and live happier. Many times, we cannot achieve this alone, because change is difficult. Asking for help is sometimes necessary, as it can lead to hope, support and guidance which we need to stay on course, as we pursue our goals.
