About My Clients
You might be feeling the weight of the world constantly on your shoulders. Maybe you are going through relationship, family, or career changes you aren’t sure how to navigate. It may begin to seem like you feel anxious more often, or it is getting more difficult to enjoy daily life. There is hope and change is possible.
My Background and Approach
Though counseling can at first be intimidating, the benefits can profoundly change how you experience your life. My therapeutic approach is to use person-centered and mindfulness-based techniques to collaborate with each individual and address their areas of need. I do this by working with you to develop and strengthen skills that support your true self. You will feel supported through your journey and have opportunities to grow by developing awareness and communication skills, strengthening your confidence, and exploring other vital tools to help you flourish. These tools will prepare you to experience the emotions of daily life without feeling overwhelmed or trapped. What you can expect from me as a therapist is to have an authentic individual dedicated to partnering with you to help create the change you are looking for Additionally, I bring an atmosphere of kindness, acceptance, flexibility, and curiosity to safely explore the vulnerable parts of yourself where change happens.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It is a privilege and honor for me to collaboratively work with you on your journey. My background includes working with military and first responders, their families, with teenagers and young adults, and with alcohol addiction and recovery. I come from a first responder and military family and have experience serving as an officer on active-duty for over five years. After my active-duty service, I earned my Master of Science in Social Work Degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, with a concentration in evidence-based interpersonal practice. The military lifestyle has allowed me to live on both the west and east coast, and several places in between. Outdoors in nature is one of my favorite places to be.
