About My Clients

I have experience helping clients overcome anxiety and depression, as well as difficult experiences including trauma and problematic behaviors. I work with my clients to reprocess challenging memories allowing them to regain control over their emotions and responses. I understand that things we go through can manifest in many ways, and I'm here to help you navigate the impact of the tough things in your life.

My Background and Approach

I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan, a Master's Degree in Industrial/ Organizational Psychology from the University of Detroit - Mercy and a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate in Colorado. What sets me apart is my innovative approach, seamlessly weaving my business acumen with a passion for neurobiology and the physiology of emotions. By integrating evidence-based models such as EMDR with the Polyvagal Theory and other somatic-based approaches, I empower my clients to connect thoughts and emotions to physical responses, offering greater control over reactions to challenging situations.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in human resilience. My experience with individuals that have been sexually exploited and trafficked as well as with widows with late stage AIDS in Kenya is proof that humans have the capacity to recover from hardship and trauma. I am committed to working with individuals that while in a vulnerable state were taken advantage of and either physically, sexually or emotionally abused. In particular, I have experience with those that have suffered childhood abuse of some form. Our bodies are proficient at providing us with coping mechanisms to protect from such abuse. However, sometimes those coping skills that were once helpful are no longer serving us well. I work with clients to reprocess their trauma, teach skills to regulate their nervous system and provide new coping tools as needed.
