About My Clients
I specialize in working with trauma, depression, identity-related concerns, and caregiver stress. My approach is attentive to emotional experience, interpersonal understanding, reflecting on the past, being in the present, and moving toward a life worth living. I also offer specialization in religious trauma, including supporting those leaving or recovering from involvement with high-demand religious communities.
My Background and Approach
I integrate psychodynamic and third-wave cognitive behavioral therapies, such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I am trained in EMDR to treat trauma and related concerns. I offer unique specialization in religious trauma, including supporting those leaving or recovering from involvement with high-demand religious communities. In working with each client, I aim to create a therapy space that is individualized, human, and responsive. I understand that human healing happens in the context of a human relationship, and that therapy is a unique experience of connection that can allow us to heal in new ways.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a therapist (and a person), I strive to understand and address the many impacts that oppression has on human lives. I work to understand my own identities and the unique intersecting identities of each client I see. I hope to provide services that are racially responsive, queer affirming, and culturally attuned.
