My Background and Approach
Hi, I’m Elizabeth “Betsy” Craft, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate under the supervision of Lauren Coats, LPC-S. I believe everyone has the capacity for growth and resilience, and I am passionate about helping clients navigate life’s challenges with confidence and clarity. With over a decade experience working with teens as a high school visual art educator in the Rockwall area, I bring a deep understanding of adolescent development, family dynamics, and the pressures today’s young people face. As a former collegiate athlete and current mom of two, I also appreciate the complexities of balancing academics, family, mental health, relationships, and personal growth. I take a holistic, client-centered approach, integrating both traditional and alternative therapeutic techniques to help individuals of all ages feel seen, heard, and supported.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a counselor, I believe in the power of authentic connection, empathy, and a little laughter along the way. Rooted in my Christian faith, I see every individual as valuable, capable of growth, and deserving of grace. I believe life is meant to be lived fully, with joy, meaningful relationships, and purpose — even in the midst of challenges. None of us are immune to seasons of struggle, and sometimes having a compassionate, nonjudgmental ear can make all the difference. I value creating a safe, welcoming space where clients can be their honest, unfiltered selves while we work together toward healing, clarity, and personal growth. I believe therapy isn’t just about tackling problems — it’s also about rediscovering strengths, learning to enjoy life again, and building resilience for whatever comes next. My hope is to walk alongside each person I work with as they learn, heal, and become the best version of themselves.
