Elizabel is a Licensed Clinician Professional Counselor located in Chicago and Westchester areas. Elizabel obtained a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Puerto Rico. Currently, she’s working on completing her Ph.D. in Psychology. Elizabel enjoys working with tweens, adolescents, and adults and has a friendly interpersonal and multidisciplinary style, with a balance of humor and direct feedback. Elizabel enjoys and uses a variety of innovative techniques like adapted play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive coaching, confrontation, art, & music as part of therapy interventions.
Elizabel has worked immigrants, substance abuse, and risk youth in her home country and Illinois and also, has experience working in school-based programs, running groups using structured psychotherapy for adolescents responding to chronic stress (SPARCS), and connecting families to service programs to enhance their well-being.
