About My Clients
I primarily work with individual adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety, LGBTQ/BIPOC identity issues, and/or going through life transitions. My work aims to provide a safe and affirming space for those who are looking to rediscover their true, authentic selves. Together we will work to support you to live a more fulfilling, hopeful, and meaningful life. I am currently accepting new clients, offering online sessions for those who reside in California, Oregon, or Washington.
My Background and Approach
Before transitioning into therapy, I worked as a medical social worker for patients with chronic kidney failure for 4 years. During that time, I supported patients as they adjusted to their illness, helping them navigate the grief of losing their previous lifestyle and the stress of adapting to a new one. I also provided assistance in managing mental health conditions that arose during dialysis treatment, such as depression, anxiety, and end-of-life concerns. As a therapist, I bring my sense of humor and humility to building a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship. My approach emphasizes collaboration, always recognizing that the client is the expert in their own life. My goal is to empower clients, helping them take back control, feel more positive, and build the strength to overcome future challenges. I’m passionate about creating a safe space where clients can grow, gain confidence, and live a more fulfilling life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Growing up as a 1.5 generation immigrant in the U.S., I didn’t have many role models who looked like me. As a teen, when I sought therapy, I struggled to find a therapist who understood and shared my cultural background. This experience motivated me to enter the mental health field to help bridge the gap in culturally competent care. I am passionate about ensuring individuals from diverse backgrounds feel seen, heard, and understood in therapy. My personal journey allows me to connect deeply with clients who share similar experiences. Outside of my therapeutic work, I enjoy knitting, reading, and volunteering at the local cat shelter.
