About My Clients
All I could ask for in a client is a willingness and openness to learn and grow together in the therapeutic journey and relationship. Some of the areas of concern that we can tackle together are anxiety, intrusive thoughts, depressive symptoms, mind-body connection, existential crisis, relationship struggles, issues with communication and coping, low self-esteem, and counseling for grief/loss. My Background and Approach
I focus on a client-centered approach. I’ve noticed that as a therapist, my greatest strength lies in my ability to hold and create a safe, supportive space where clients feel comfortable enough to fully process their feelings. Whether they are working through emotions related to a traumatic event, complicated relationships with a person or family member, conflicting thoughts and opinions, or even challenges with their own self-perception, I believe providing a neutral, non-judgmental environment is essential. It’s within this kind of space that true exploration of self can happen. This process is, in my experience, a vital pathway to personal growth and healing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My name is Elissa but I go by Ellie. I am a born and raised Jersey girl. I really enjoy spending time traveling and exploring new places. One of the most fulfilling things I’ve done was volunteering in Nicaragua to assist building homes and teaching mothers/children English as a second language. I am a big animal person. I grew up owning horses and currently have 2 dogs, a bulldog and a golden retriever. In my free time, I enjoy being outside, reading, and spending time with my husband and daughter.
