About My Clients
Are you tired of overthinking, second-guessing yourself, and having unfulfilling relationships? Are you interested in mindfulness and self-care, but don't know how to make lasting changes in your life and routine? Then it sounds like we're a good fit! I work with young adults and millennials who are tired of talking endlessly in therapy without seeing any changes in their lives. My approach combines coaching with therapy to help you deepen your insight while gaining practical life skills.
My Background and Approach
My unique background includes a Master's degree in Mindfulness-based Transpersonal Counseling Psychology and I'm a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach, making the work I do with clients deeply transformative. In working together, we will deepen your self-understanding and insight by helping you learn about your personal psychology while also strengthening your coping skills by assessing how your current coping skills are working and helping you use new ones in your daily life when you need them the most. Tired of overthinking and second-guessing yourself? I'll teach you how to respond to your thoughts with more kindness and clarity. Want to have more fulfilling relationships? We'll look at your past to see how it's impacting you now while helping you learn more about healthy relationships and how to have them. Want to speak up more at work? Learn how to use your voice confidently and trust your knowledge. The combination of coaching and therapy is life changing!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm an intersectional feminist through and through. I value spirituality in a grounded way by appreciating the beauty and wonder of nature. I don't believe in quick fixes nor do I prescribe them to my clients. I believe that a lifetime of challenge and trauma (systemic, interpersonal, etc.) impact a person at deep levels that must be acknowledged and held with compassion before healing can begin. Healing happens when we have our needs met and so many of us don't even know what our needs are. I believe it is my role as a therapist to support my clients in deepening their understanding of their needs while gaining practical skills and strategies to be able to better meet their needs. I've gone through my own healing journey, starting in 2004, and have successfully learned how to love myself after experiencing many Adverse Childhood Experiences, like parent alcoholism and addiction, and emotional and physical abuse and neglect. So I know change is possible!
