About My Clients

My speciality is in relationships, those with partners, families, and the one we have with ourself. I approach therapy with warmth, curiosity, and a deep respect for each person’s unique story. My work is grounded in helping clients better understand themselves, navigate life transitions, and build more fulfilling relationships.

My Background and Approach

I am a Marriage and Family Therapist passionate about working with individuals, couples and families to better understand themselves and their relationships. I approach therapy with warmth, curiosity, and a deep respect for each person’s unique story. My work is grounded in helping clients better understand themselves, navigate life transitions, and build more secure and fulfilling relationships, both with others and within themselves. I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy, an attachment-based approach that helps individuals and couples better understand emotional needs, strengthen communication, and create more secure connection. I focus on patterns in relationships rather than placing fault on any one person. My approach is rooted in the belief that our early experiences shape how we relate to ourselves and others. The past often lives on in the present, in the stories we carry about who we are, what we deserve, and how relationships work.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a systemic therapist, which means I consider the various contexts each person, couple, family is a part of and how those various contexts impact their lives. Our unique backgrounds and identities impact the way we interact with the world and the way the world interacts with us. I believe it is important to acknowledge this in our sessions. I strive to create a space where people can show up authentically, without judgment or pressure. I value curiosity, compassion, and genuine connection and I seek to have a relationship with my clients where they can say, "Elise, you actually didn't get that quite right." I am a forever learner and there is so much my clients teach me every day. I believe that is why the therapeutic relationship is so unique and beautiful.
