About My Clients
I truly enjoy working with individuals who have experienced trauma, including sexual abuse/assault/trafficking, physical abuse, domestic violence, suicide/death of a loved one, natural disasters, car accidents, and more. I also enjoy working with individuals who are seeking help due to depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, or parenting difficulties.
My Background and Approach
My theoretical approach to counseling is a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rogerian Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. For trauma-related treatment, I also utilize Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Experiential Reframing (ER). ER uses affective associations rather than cognitive associations to identify experiences for therapeutic intervention, allowing the client to connect and weave between associated recent and remote experiences, contrasting/positive experiences, resource memories, and future projections. After a session of ER, clients often state that they will never view the incident in the same manner, feeling more confident and grounded.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I strongly believe that every person should be treated with kindness and respect. I have a true passion for helping people who have experienced traumatic events, and I am confident in my ability to assist them in healing and living a life without debilitating symptoms.
