About My Clients
My specialty is with those who have faced identity based trauma. Identity based trauma includes experiencing trauma on the basis of being in a marginalized community such as race, gender, sexuality, religion, etc.. I am trauma focused in my approach. I also specialize in workplace fatigue/stress. I acknowledge our society encourages a growing list of demands with little value to care/rest. I help these individuals find a balance in their routine.
My Background and Approach
My experience includes working in residential treatment facilities, working with families within foster care and child welfare systems, non-profit community agencies, government agencies; psychiatric inpatient hospitals and outpatient clinics for mental health services. I have experience working with adults, at risk youth, teens, and children who deal with anxiety, depression, trauma, and interpersonal issues.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a believer that rest is a form of social justice and actively incorporate it into my own life. In my free time, I enjoy improvement in all aspects of my life - physical, mental, and spiritual. I am an avid yogi, and enjoy other physical activities such as hiking, working out, biking, and strength training. I am a frequent reader/podcast listener and enjoy continuing to broaden my understanding of interpersonal relationships, including continuing to grow and develop in my profession. I am a spiritual person and spend time in prayer and meditation. Community is important to me and I value connecting with others.
