About My Clients
You are as unique as the spark of hope that is held within you and deserve to be treated with acceptance and respect. You are a survivor; sometimes the tools you use to survive your environment or experiences fall short of allowing you to thrive. Old patterns, thoughts, feelings and behaviors served an important purpose, but now they might be holding you back. Change can be hard but you don't have to make this journey alone; I am here to offer new tools, support, and encouragement along the way.
My Background and Approach
I graduated with my Masters of Science in Clinical Psychology from Eastern Washington University. My education and additional trainings have focused on development and attachment throughout life, trauma and the impact it has on the brain and development, and how memories are processed and stored. As a trauma-informed therapist, I strive to look at the whole picture while focusing on your specific goals. Your life-story is ever changing and evolving, and it does not exist in isolation or impact only one area of your experience. I use evidence-based practices that involve the body and mind connection to allow clients the opportunity to process their experiences, thoughts/beliefs, and feelings. My goal is to give you an environment to thrive. My trainings and certifications in Somatic Attachment Focused-EMDR, Parent-Child Psychotherapy, CBT for Trauma, as well as others, has prepared me to work with clients struggling with Anxiety, ADHD, Trauma and Complex Trauma, and Attachment.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone has an unlimited capacity to grow. You are here because you want something to be different; you are looking for additional tools to change old patterns of response. I believe that my role in your journey is to offer additional tools and ideas that can be use to change and adapt in new ways, to go from surviving to thriving. Over the years I have worked with children and adults in a variety of roles; as an educator, a cognitive development specialist, and now as a counselor. The diversity of experience and people that I have worked with allows me to utilize a variety of approaches and techniques to individuals and families to meet their goals. I believe that there is not a "one-size fits all" in therapy because many different trails can lead to great destinations. It is about finding the trail to change that best fits your life experience. If you are interested in taking this journey together, please send me a message.
