Cognitive Behavioral Therapy focuses on challenging and changing cognitive distortions and behaviors, improving emotional regulation, and the development of personal coping strategies that target solving current problems. For the past 5 years I have been treating individuals using CBT for issues such as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, phobias, social anxiety, hoarding, personality, thought and mood disorders.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is an empirically based psychological intervention that uses acceptance and mindfulness strategies mixed in different ways with commitment and behavior-change strategies, to increase psychological flexibility. I have been utilizing ACT for the past 2 years treating individuals with personality, thought and mood disorders.
Dialectical behavior therapy is an evidence-based psychotherapy useful in treating personality and mood disorders, suicidal ideation, and for change in behavioral patterns such as self-harm, anger outbursts, and substance abuse. I am certified in DBT and have been utilizing in practice and personally for the past 2 years.
