About My Clients
I specialize in supporting LGBTQ+ youth (age 6-19), especially Gender Variant folks (trans, non-binary, gender creative, gender non-conforming) and have developed expertise in the areas of trans wellness. I do what I do because the world doesn’t make enough space for people’s unique self-expression, and for those impacted by minority stress, and oppression. This space is for you to explore your truth, and reclaim who you are.
My Background and Approach
I'm here to stand by you as you discover what wellness means to you, and to give you tools to support your resilience. Growing up, the arts gave me a refuge to express my concerns, my feelings, and to explore who I was in a safer way. It brought a deep meaning into my life, and I felt called to help others with their own journey. Art therapy involves making art and exploring creativity in order to unearth what someone may be experiencing. Through art, it’s possible to tap into our emotions, where language can otherwise escape us. When it feels right, we discuss what is coming up through the artistic expression, and begin to process. I hold a Masters Degree in Creative Arts Therapies from Concordia University, and have additional training in trans-health, mindfulness practices, animal assisted therapy, and trauma-informed care.
