About My Clients
I work with clients of all ages and backgrounds. Some common themes in my practice include: LGBTQ+ identities, gender & sexuality, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges in both traditional and non-traditional relationship structures, complex trauma, sexual trauma, obsessional thinking, communication issues, life transitions, chronic illness, and stress from sexism, racism, and ableism.
My Background and Approach
I believe the client-therapist relationship is at the heart of the therapeutic process, and I strive to collaboratively co-create meaning and a greater understanding of yourself. My style is responsive, relational, and casual. My work is grounded in anti-oppressive politics that recognizes the harm that oppressive structures do to all of us, but especially those with marginalized identities. I am a graduate of the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and also have a background in theater and film, including an MFA in film from Columbia University School of the Arts. My experience in collaborative, narrative storytelling has been a valuable resource in helping clients understand their histories, the intergenerational forces of trauma and oppression that affect them, and the internalized narratives that shape their beliefs and choices.
