About My Clients
I find the most success with clients who are feeling very stuck in their lives, or clients who are very aware of themselves but still feel like they're not able to make the changes that they wish to. I am skilled at noticing patterns and aiding clients in experiencing meaningful growth. I have specialties with anxiety disorders, OCD, men's and women's issues, depression, and individuals with trauma from within their families of origin. I also have a strong diversity and multicultural lens.
My Background and Approach
As a Mexican-American with a background in non-profit work, I care deeply about sensitive, accessible, and holistic care for each client. I utilize attachment theories and Internal Family Systems (IFS) alongside Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP) to bring a well-rounded approach to therapy. I believe that sessions should be practical and helpful to your life as well as insightful and internally connecting. I also have skills in integrating spirituality or philosophy within sessions. I believe deeply in acknowledging your background, history, and identity as integral factors of your personal journey.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I value choice, autonomy, and compassion. I am an active advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community, Black Lives Matter movement, feminist movements, and Men's mental health movements. I work every year with cold-weather shelters in the area and care deeply about accessible healthcare.
