About My Clients
My clients are usually people who struggle with anxiety, are stressed about their “it’s complicated” relationship status, are trying to make new moves or break old patterns, or are just looking to have a safe, “made to order” space to talk about literally anything and everything else. It's usually the creatives, the outcasts, black sheep, or the quirky that find me. They have niche interests, are recovering people pleasers, or are just trying to figure out themselves and/or the world around them
My Background and Approach
I know trying therapy can be nerve-wracking and sometimes awkward, so my approach is about combining effective strategies and authentic, person-centered sessions. It's not like the uber clinical setting you may have seen or experienced before! This human first angle often includes comfortable conversation, humor, and collaboration every step of the way. My clients would and have described me as a "unicorn" - they've tried therapy before with at least one other therapist but didn't find the right fit in personality and approach until their work with me. This is thanks to my guiding values of authenticity, transparency, and immediacy. I'm a therapist but also own my human-ness. I have experience working with kids, preteens/teens, young adults including college students, and adults up to age 65. I have worked in multiple settings including non profits working with trauma, the local jail working with incarcerated individuals, and in group practice working with everything else!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I started my private practice because I know not all therapy is good therapy & I felt like I could create a unique, safe space. I opened while on my journey as a counselor, self-proclaimed nerd, and new mom. Re-discovering myself over and over as I moved through different seasons of life and knowing others are doing the same on the daily is what really sparked the creation of We Who Wander. I believe in welcoming and supporting others in a nonjudgmental and, frankly, very open way with appropriate self disclosure, rapport building, and reflection of values. I have professional and personal experiences within the LGBTQ+ community, adoption/foster care community, and ENM and divorcee populations
