About My Clients
I specialize in deep and long-term therapy with clients. I love work with all members of the LGBTQ+ community, but especially thrive with Bisexual, Non-Binary, and Transgender folx. I also have substantial experience working with student athletes and those struggling with romantic, platonic, or familial relationships. Finally, I offer DBT & LGBTQ+ groups.
My Background and Approach
As a therapist, I am a warm, relationship-oriented, and challenging. I let you set the pace of treatment and help you build confidence in your innate abilities to heal and persevere during difficult seasons of life. I use a mixture of a talk-therapy (psychodynamic) approach & more structured skills from Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Expect a deep interest in you as a person, beyond your diagnosis! I follow the client's lead in setting their own goals for therapy. I am both solution-oriented and process-focused in my approach to client's goals. This means that I will offer relevant skills tailored to your specific concerns & will spend as many sessions as needed discussing/processing these concerns.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As an openly Queer psychologist and the 2024–2025 President of APA Division 44 (The Society for the Psychology of Sexual Orientation & Gender Diversity), I am deeply committed to affirming, identity-conscious care. My peer-reviewed research focuses mostly on bisexual well-being, mindfulness, and emotion regulation. My practice, Grand Slam Psych, has the mission of advocating for & empowering all its clients, especially those who hold marginalized identities in our society. Outside of therapy room, I am an avid fan of NY sports, a big reader, and lover of all things outdoors.
