About My Clients
Clients I’ve worked with have experiences related to PTSD (e.g., sexual assault, combat trauma), depression, anxiety, relationship issues or patterns, life transitions, and work/life/school stress. I also have been trained in working from a multicultural perspective regarding identity considerations and related stress to LGBTQIA+ and diverse populations. Lastly, I have been specifically trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD.
My Background and Approach
I believe in collaborative therapy and considering a whole person’s context in investigating why we do what we do and in what ways we are able to create growth in our lives. I value hearing client’s stories and then incorporating therapies within treatment that works for you. I believe life will find ways to make being a human hard and even typical life events can catch us emotionally off guard. I welcome being a part of that support system to help guide you through challenging life events and mental health difficulties. Lastly, I believe in strengths-based assessment and therapy, using what makes you, you to help you grow.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am an advocate for broadening the dissemination of psychological knowledge, the acceptance of emotional expression, and giving voice to unheard stories. I value and encourage focus on positive mental health environments (i.e., external factors, not just internal) and use of coping skills to a wider population (because we all need it!). I strive to provide collaborative mental health care and therapy and strive to be an ally for historically underserved populations. Personally, I love the outdoors, music, my orange cat, and I value authenticity and trying.
