About My Clients
Welcome. If you're here you may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, and afraid. You have a strong inner critic and find yourself feeling anxious about most things in your life. You had a complicated childhood or lived through a chaotic and traumatic home life as a kid. You have distressing thoughts and images that you cant get rid of no matter how hard you try. You want to feel grounded and clear headed so you can move forward with the goals you have for your life but you don't know how. I can help.
My Background and Approach
My philosophy centers around the idea that we are all whole and complete beings at our core, undamaged by the chaos and abrasiveness that life brings. I center mindfulness, compassion, and warmth in my work with you. I aim to honor the unique aspects of all of your identities, and how they shape your experience of your life and your current challenges. My clinical approach is a blend of mindfulness and EMDR (an evidence based therapy to treat trauma and anxiety). I’ll work to understand your current struggles and offer concrete tools to relive the strong feelings of overwhelm. We will then move to exploring and befriending your inner world. In our sessions, all parts of you are welcomed. If appropriate we re-process traumatic or distressing material using EMDR. Lastly we take time to integrate new thoughts, beliefs, and feelings so that you can move forward in your life without the burden and heaviness of your past experiences.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we are all innately whole and complete just as we are. Life can be messy and hard and sometimes we come to a point where we all need a little help from someone else. My aim is to be as inclusive and affirming to my clients, especially individuals who don't always get spaces to be just as they are.
