About My Clients
I provide a safe, comfortable, and confidential space where you are free to be you. Some areas that I may be helpful: gender and sexuality issues and exploration, disordered eating, depression, anxieties, pet loss, life transitions, & unprocessed traumas. We'll work together to see new perspectives and heal the inner you.
My Background and Approach
I began my journey in the helping profession by working with young kiddos who were experiencing overwhelming trauma's and needed help learning skills in the moment. This led me to working in groups homes with adults with severe and persistent mental illness. After graduating with my Bachelor's degree in Social Work, I worked as a Case Manager where I specialized in working with Personality Disorders and young adults. From there, I realized that I wanted to help prompt thought and exploration and decided to get my Master's degree is Clinical Social Work. I completed my Internship at the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center where I helped folks process through disenfranchised grief. After graduation, I was given an opportunity to work in Inpatient Mental Health where I got to support adolescents in individual and group therapy. There, I found my passion for working with Queer folks and knew I wanted to do more. Now, I'm here! Ready to keep doing the work that I love!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a Queer, Mixed Race Therapist who values equity, humility, learning, adventure, humor, and compassion. I believe that humans have the ability to change and grow throughout their lifespan- we are not stagnant. You are your own expert- I will never pretend that I am an expert in you. In my spare time, I enjoy picking up a good horror or psychological thriller book, watching the Golden Girls, hanging out with my 2 dogs- Rue and Sal (yes... their names are connected to the Golden Girls) and writing poetry. Being a therapist wasn't my initial goal growing up as a kid- actually, I fucking hated them but an amazing therapist changed my mind and inspired me to take a different direction in the helping field. I wouldn't change this journey for the world. I hope to prompt thought so you can make the changes that feel authentic and genuine to the you that you want to be. If you are looking for a sassy, appropriately humorous, and overly swear word-y therapist-- I'm it!
