About My Clients
I believe the ideal client brings their curiosity into therapy. Together, everything else can be figured out. Over the years I have come to specialize in several clinical concerns and populations, including: healthcare crisis, historical traumas, life transitions and mid-life crisis, decoupling and divorce, sexuality and gender exploration, de- and reconstructing masculinity, fertility and new-family forming, and individuals and families in the LGBTQ+ community.
My Background and Approach
After 10 years as a clinical program manager in large hospital systems I needed more balance in my life and relief from unrealistic internal and external expectations, so I started a solo private practice. It's been one of the best decisions I have made in my life and informs my practice daily. I primarily use Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients find balance and increase joy in their lives. I believe that deep down, clients know and hold the answers they are seeking, it's just a matter of uncovering this truth and unburdening the extreme beliefs, thoughts, or feelings they hold that cloud these answers. I am honored to help guide you through and teach you this process so you can carry it forward into your life well after therapy ends. Lastly, I am a WPATH certified clinician and can help guide and write gender affirming surgical letters.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
At a recent social engagement, someone shared their struggles with insomnia, their inability to turn their brain off at night, and an endless drive to prove themselves to others. I sat there listening with compassion because I knew all too well what that feels like. I've made many drastic and rewarding changes in my own life to come to find balance and harmony. This is why I believe I'm able to be the therapist I am today: I bring that same compassion, calmness and creativity into the therapy room. It is also why I resonate with and primarily use the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model of therapy.
