About My Clients
I serve diverse populations including BIPOC, LGBTQ+, multicultural, and trauma survivors who are confronting challenges that life presents. My clients feel safe to explore past trauma, transitions, internalized oppression while honoring their identity as they find healing.
My Background and Approach
I received my bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Washington with a focus on addiction. There I understood my passion for respecting how the mind and body interact with each other and how that complexity affects our mental health. I continued my professional development and received my masters in counseling from Antioch University Seattle with an addiction certificate. I believe in understanding the multicultural context and have worked with community mental health agencies. My clinical experience, working with the city's most vulnerable populations, has allowed me to understand not only the complexity of the therapeutic space but the systemic pressures that impact an individual's well-being and ability to find safety in seeking help. I approach my work first with compassion and presence so I can meet folx where they are at. It is from that place that trust can be established and healing can begin. I am a collaborative ally.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I do not limit my work to finding healing only for those struggling with issues around addiction. Addiction work is complex and takes into consideration identity, life transitions, relationships, generational trauma, intersectionality, feelings of shame, and so on. I strongly believe that all individuals want to find ways to reach their full potential and have felt limited from lessons learned in their past. When that power is not respected we find ways of coping that can replay throughout our lives. I honor the strength my clients hold and believe that they hold the power in their healing. I believe that it is in this collaborative partnership that folx find their way to their true authenticity and their voice. We all have a story that deserves to be witnessed and seen without judgement. I am passionate about social justice and serving diverse populations. Serving BIPOC, LGBTQ+, HAES folx.
