About My Clients
Feeling like nothing you do will ever be good enough? Like you’re chasing some unattainable goal where the goalpost keeps moving? Stuck frozen with fear or overworking because you’re terrified of failure? Using substances to keep grinding or just to chill out? I got you. I specialize in helping young AANHPI and other BIPOC regulate their nervous system, figure out what really matters to them behind all the pressure, anxiety, and shame, and build a life that feels sustainable and authentic.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in treating substance misuse and trauma in adolescents and young adults. I meet each client where they’re at and work collaboratively to determine what changes they want to make. We'll use experiential talk therapy approaches like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy to build flexibility for life’s inevitable pressures and make sense of the parts of you that feel tender or reactive. I'll integrated brain-body-based therapies like Brainspotting and EMDR to work with your nervous system, process what feels stuck, and build your own capacity to regulate so you don’t have to rely on substances to feel normal. My goal as a therapist is to provide you with a relational experience that allows you to safely confront the necessary parts of yourself to help you move toward clarity and contentment and empower you with the strength and skills to live a life that is true to you and in-line with your values.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My values are community, social justice, compassion, balance, and authenticity. I believe that people are people because of people and our relational experiences make up our sense of self and how we navigate the world. I believe that the opposite of addiction is connection, and the more we are able to connect with others, feel seen, heard, understood, and accepted, the more easily we are able to heal, tolerate, and make peace with the inevitable anxieties and stressors we experience just existing. As a high school drop-out with a checkered past, I believe that all humans have the capacity to make the changes that matter to them, but we can't do it alone. I believe that humans are deeply complex and therapy is not a one-size-fits-all; thus, it is my mission to create a therapeutic experience that works for you. In my personal life, I enjoy doing yoga, hiking, singing karaoke, dancing, trying new foods, and rewatching The Office, Stomp the Yard, and You Got Served over and over.
