About My Clients
Life can bring some of us many challenges such as unexpected stress, loss or uncertainty. Others may struggle with ongoing anxiety, distracted living, relationship issues or overwhelmed with parenting challenges. If you are here, you seek to feel more calm and confident as you gain new tools to manage your life. I seek to support you using an integrated approach towards meaningful change so you can live your best life
My Background and Approach
With over 25+ years of experience in the therapy field, I bring a warm, individualized and collaborative style to the therapy process. My education and training includes a Masters in Social Work from Hunter College School of Social Work and a Doctorate in Social Welfare from Adelphi University, NY. My clinical approaches are refined to the presenting problem but most importantly, I believe that a strong rapport and a solid therapeutic relationship is key to change in therapy. With care and understanding, together, we can set goals and take a problem-solution approach to whatever is on your mind. I immigrated to the United States from Ireland as a young woman and know very well what it’s like to adapt and start something new. I have embraced the challenges of navigating my surroundings and like to travel to new places and old haunts.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that with trust, rapport and a little grounded humor sometimes, the therapy process becomes accessible and should feel like a safe space for those who are seeking help. I like to use a wholistic approach to find solutions. Most of all, collaboration in working towards change is key to the work I do....but more importantly the work I love to do.
