About My Clients
I often treat adults 18 + from all backgrounds. My client's often come for support with anxiety, depression and early childhood trauma as well as present-day trauma. I often have clients seeking support in wanting to understand who they are and what their purpose is. Because of my cultural background, I also typically see clients who have experienced racial and community trauma, often seeking a safe place to explore these events and understand their multiple social and racial identities.
My Background and Approach
I am trained in EMDR and work to target trauma and how this may show up today in forms of anxiety, depression, stress, physical pain and difficulty in relationships. I take a very client-centered and strengths-based approach and help work together and help heal from pain, stress and discomfort. I am here to listen, understand and most importantly not tell you what to do. I am a healer, who invites you to pay attention to yourself, become curious about yourself and learn about yourself. Lastly, my approach is very much centered around becoming your biggest advocate and assisting you in the best possible way.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Through my years of experience I have learned that therapy is not a one-size-fit-all approach and I often believe that therapy can be what you want it to be. I believe that change is difficult but it is very much possible and it is attained in the smallest of smallest moves, changes we make to our lives. I make the effort to remember that everyone is different and that I can offer a space to where you can simply just be you, maybe for the first time, ever. I often think of therapy in this way: a vehicle that you are driving and I am your passenger, interested in what you have to show and talk about, helping you remember that you are the one driving, and maybe at times, helping you steer in the right direction.
